We are searching for a Program Director for our Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program.
Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program Profile:
The McLaren Regional Medical Center/Michigan State University Affiliated Orthopaedic Surgery Residency is a community-hospital residency based at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. The program is a five year program that is fully accredited by the Residency Review Committee, and is approved for ten residents. Residents actively participate in a large number of elective and trauma surgeries during their five years of education. The bulk of elective surgeries are performed at McLaren, a private, non-profit hospital with approximately 436 beds. McLaren has an excellent orthopaedic surgical floor, a rehabilitation unit, and a closed-head injury outpatient program.
Position Summary:
The program director must administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the residents in each of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) competency areas.
Required Education/Experience:
1. Requisite specialty expertise and documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the Review Committee.
2. Three to five (3-5) years experience as a faculty member in an Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program.
3. Current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, or specialty qualifications that are acceptable to the Review Committee.
4. Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment.
Preferred Education/Experience:
1. Subspecialty training preferred.
